  Configuring various remote access services for Windows SBS 2003

  Remote Web Workplace  (RWW)

Remote Web Workplace is unique to SBS 2003. It allows secure remote, access to a PC or server, from a web browser, using SSL. The options available are determined by the groups to which a member belongs. Links available to a typical user are; for E-mail access, office desktop computer, corporate Intranet, terminal server, as well as assistance to set up remote e-mail and VPN connections. Administrators also have the option to connect to servers, and view server performance and usage reports.

  SBS VPN

Although it is not often needed, due to the many ways to access SBS resources, SBS also offers a customized version of RRAS (Routing and Remote Access Services) for VPN access.

  Outlook Web Access (OWA)

Outlook Web Access can be accessed as part of Remote Web Workplace or independently using https://SBSName.DomainName.abc/Exchange It allows for secure web based access to Exchange e-mail. OWA requires that port 443 be forwarded from the router to the SBS.

   RPC/Http

RPC/Http allows for secure synchronization of e-mail between a remote system, and the Exchnage server, without the need for a VPN. RPC/Http requres port 43 be forwarded from the router to the SBS.
